Use of the Transportation/Utility Corridor (TUC)

What is the Transportation/Utility Corridor (TUC)?

In the 1970s, the Government of Alberta established restricted development areas (RDA) around the cities of Calgary and Edmonton. The lands included in these RDAs were designated for TUC uses, such as ring road systems, major power lines, pipelines, and municipal utilities. The Edmonton TUC extends through the City of Edmonton and Strathcona County. Allocations of land for facilities within a TUC are made by Alberta Infrastructure. For more information on the TUC and its uses, visit www.infrastructure.alberta.ca.
